Catherine Madera is a lifelong horse woman and published writer since 2004 where she got her start writing first-person inspirational stories for magazines and anthologies. She later served as editor for a regional horse magazine, The Northwest Horse Source, and co-authored a manual on equine therapy, The Listening Heart, with Leigh Shambo. Catherine won the Merial Human-Animal Bond Award given by American Horse Publications for the article A Hero’s Work in 2012 and in 2013 self-published a horse related women’s fiction, Rain Shadow.
